Remembering Swami Vivekananda on his Birth anniversary

On the occasion of National Youth Day ((12th January) and the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, we are pleased to present this reflective tribute by Tish Malhotra. At a time when India is still grappling with inequality and division, Vivekananda’s fearless critique of a degraded caste system and his insistence on the spiritual oneness of all human beings remain relevant. डॉ मधु कपूर ने अभी तक दर्शनशास्त्र के जितने भी विषयों की यहाँ चर्चा की है, उनकी सहायता से दर्शनशास्त्र की बहुत सी गुत्थियाँ हमारे लिए सुलझी हैं। इस बार का उनका विषय है ज्ञान और भक्ति। इतना तो हम डॉ कपूर के लेखों के कारण भी और यूँ भी जानते हैं कि ज्ञान और भक्ति चाहे बहुत ही छोटे और निरापद से लगने वाले शब्द हैं किन्तु वास्तविकता में ये दोनों बहुत गहन विषय हैं और दर्शनशास्त्र में इन पर व्यापक चर्चा हुई है।

डॉ मधु कपूर की 'ज्ञान' के विभिन्न आयामों पर चल रही श्रृंखला में हाल ही में आपने "‘सत्य' अब एक बहस का विषय है" और उससे पहले "संदेह की टटोलन, ज्ञान की सीमा और विश्वास का धरातल" जैसे लेख पढ़े होंगे. इसके पहले भी विभिन्न लेखों में वह ज्ञान और सत्य पर दर्शनशास्त्र के विभिन्न सिद्धांतों के अनुसार चर्चा कर चुकी हैं. यदि पुराने लेखों का का  स्मरण करें तो इस सन्दर्भ में उनका करीब पौने दो वर्ष पहले इसी वेबपत्रिका में प्रकाशित "मैं कहता आँखिन देखी" भी बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है.
