तालाबों का नामकरण है बड़ा दिलचस्प

पाँच जून अर्थात विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस! इस दिन हम कृतज्ञ भाव से स्मरण कर रहे हैं जाने-माने गाँधीवादी चिंतक एवं जल-संरक्षण के प्रणेता अनुपम मिश्र का जिन्होंने पर्यावरण-संरक्षण को उस समय मुद्दा बनाया जब हमारे देश में पर्यावरण-संरक्षण कोई मुद्दा ही नहीं था। 1977 में जब उन्होंने गांधी शांति प्रतिष्ठान में पर्यावरण कक्ष की स्थापना की तो आप अनुमान लगा सकते हैं कि उस समय पर्यावरण संरक्षण एकदम फैशन में नहीं था। बाद में कई वर्ष यह बहुत फैशन में रहा लेकिन जल्द ही समझ आ गया कि अब यह चिंता का विषय है। आज हमें उनका यह लेख प्रकाशित करते हुए विशेष प्रसन्नता हो रही है क्योंकि यह लेख उनकी अत्यंत प्रसिद्ध हुई पुस्तक 'आज भी खरे हैं तालाब' से सम्बद्ध है। इस पुस्तक का अनुवाद देश-विदेश की दर्जनों भाषाओं में हुआ है और इसकी प्रतियां लाखों की संख्या में छपी हैं।
